In preparation for the 2021-22 All State Chorus Audition cycle, students should be avidly preparing in chorus classes to become proficient in key signature and rhythm reading. Additionally, students should be conversant with the High School All State Vocabulary as listed.
Wednesday, March 5, 2021. 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Choral Students at both Walton Middle School and Walton High School will converge in the lovely, and spacious Walton High School Auditorium to work music together. Students will be led by clinicians throughout the day to build a more solid vocal technique, choral foundation, and choral performance. Students will be led in team building activities, as well as working songs for presentation before the day concludes with a group performance. Lunch, water, and snacks will be provided. All participating students have been given permission to participate in the day's musical events. This live, synchronous music event will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 between 4:00-8:00 p.m. and/or Saturday, February 6, 2021 between 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Our Walton High School students will sing 2 musical selections for certified adjudicators Dr. Peter Steenblik (UWF Choral Professor), Carlton Kilpatrick (FSU doctoral student), Dr. Sheila Dunn (UWF Voice Faculty) and others to receive live, synchronous comments, and ratings. Students have chosen music prior to the Winter break. Class time in January will be devoted to the proper preparation of music for adjudication. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Mrs. Tredway.
